What are these Tinos? Whose Time it is?
Vermentino and Sagrantino.
Two grape varieties that originally hail from Italy – Vermentino from the Mediterranean Islands of Sardinia and Liguria with the Sagrantino coming from Umbria – we have been able to access fruit through the wide plantings of the Chalmers family in Heathcote and the Murray Darling.

Vermentino can range from quite light and fresh through to medium bodied richer, textural styles which is what our 2019 looks like. The Vermentino fruit for 2019 came to us in near perfect condition. Grown in the famous Cambrian soils by the Chalmers Family at their Colbinabbin vineyard just north of Heathcote, where the approach to grape growing centres around organic practices.
Its all Golden Goodness –  a dry wine with a touch of candied pineapple, little white flowers, toasty brioche, Corella pear, the spicy warmth of cinnamon and a lick of lime for good measure.

2017 6Save Our Souls Sagrantino

The vineyard plot sits just outside the town of Mildura, the dry and hot climate which has access to good irrigation is a step away from all our other fruit sources. Soil biodiversity is impressive and vineyard management is based on organic principles.. This wine is pure fun,  it’s a party in a glass!…spicy nose of anise and dark berries.  The palate has dark plums and cherries with a juicy centre. A back palate of black tea, black olives and crushed cherries linger.
Fun Fact: Studies have found that Sagrantino has the highest polyphenol (anti-oxidants) of any red wine. So its actually healthy for you!
